FOCUS Culinary Arts Program

The FOCUS Culinary Arts Program is meant to teach young people the basics of nutrition and food preparation to help them make better decisions and lead a healthy lifestyle.  Each week, students will learn a new dish that incorporates a variety of ingredients and skills.  We start with knife skills in our intro course with a stiry fry dish.  Check the menu below for our dishes this class:

Week 1 - Pan Frying with grilled chicken fajitas

Week 2 - Deep Frying with Vegetable Samosas w/ yogurt sauce (white sauce) and Spice mastery with Indian Spiced Root Vegetables 

Week 3 - One pot dish w/ chicken noodle soup and garlic bread

Week 4 - Homemade Chicken Pot Pies

Week 5 - Hawaiian Sweet Roll Chicken Parm Sliders

Each student will receive a FOCUS Youth Network apron, cookbook, and FOCUS Culinary Arts Program Certificate.  Participants who finish the program will be invited to our kids cooking competition over the summer.

Parents are encoruaged to stay but it is not required.  We do have a lounge with couches and a TV for parents to relax in during class :-)
