Devon is a
energetic and passionate educator, youth speaker, programmer and advocate.
With proven experience in Multicultural Education and cultural context training,
as well as youth program development and implementation, Devon seeks to
equip youth with the skills they need to become productive members of their
communities.
Devon is founder and serves as Executive Director for a growing non-profit called
the F.O.C.U.S. Youth Network, which since Nov of 2016, has served over 750
youth in Philadelphia through innovative programs centered around Wellness
and Nutrition Education, Character Development, and Post-Secondary Success.
Creating programs such as Young Men Can Cook, Workforce Academy, our
Summer Youth Experience, and annual F.O.C.U.S. Fashion Show, offer youth a
variety of experiences to build character and productive members of their
communities. Devon believes strongly that, "providing youth with extraordinary
experiences, will produce extraordinary individuals."
Devon produces one of the largest annual fundraisers and youth fashion shows
in Philadelphia, the F.O.C.U.S. Fashion Show, which draws 250 youth and
families from around the city, to help celebrate the unique accomplishments of
our youth. 2019 will represent the third year in a row of this growing event.
As author of Bus 23: Tips and Strategies to Help Teens Overcome Peer
Pressure, an interactive book with lessons and critical thinking questions to help
kids overcome negativity in their lives, particularly, Peer Pressure, Devon
provides regular workshops and seminars to school, non-profit, and church youth
groups to help youth overcome peer pressure and learn to B.E.T. on themselves;
Believe in yourself when no one else will, encourage yourself, and Take time to
make the best decision.
He also moderates a youth led TV show, Youth UnCut, a show created to give
youth a voice and discuss the things that mean most to them. Please check out
